For as long as we remember, we’ve always dreamed of traveling the world. So, after a lot of thinking and just talking about it, we’ve decided to actually do it - take a long period of time off, a year or even more, and embark in one big adventure to see the planet!

Of course, that requires a lot of planning and decisions to be made - which countries to visit? When to go? For how long? What gear to take?

So, we created the One World To See project!

We realized that a blog would be the perfect way to research, document and get opinions from the community. We initially set up a separate website at OneWorldToSee.com, but later decided that it’s better to combine it with the existing iRui.ac, since maintaining two websites is quite time consuming. Once the trip actually starts, we can use iRui.ac to be a living, real-time diary of our experiences as we go, with our posts, pictures and even videos.

But a trip like this is *expensive* and we want to do it while we are still young So, for this, we are SELLING THE WORLD! Hey, if Dubai did it, why can’t we???

Want to have your own piece? A whole country? An entire continent? (hmm, that would be great!). It’s very easy – just donate to our trip and put yourself on the map.

Our goal is to cover the land surface (the green pixels) with images of your choice. They can be anything - company ads, your blog logo, your photo, whatever you fancy, with a link back to your website.

Together we can make a real original and unique map of the world. The only thing we ask is a donation of 10 cents per pixel (10 bucks for a square, that’s not much, is it? ). We promise to keep the site running for many years to come, so your image will be a permanent part of this little slice of Internet history.

Or, if you don’t feel like donating, but still want to help, there are other ways you can contribute, like spreading the word or sharing your tips & tricks on the best places to visit.
